• Dance Off

    / Comments (0)

Earlier today we received a message from Ashley Linnenbank. Ashley is a designer at Beam Interactive.

Apparently, Ashley saw some former colleagues from Modernista! promoting a Facebook competition sponsored by Food Should Taste Good, a snack company out of Needham. The competition is a Super Bowl touchdown dance off that awards the dance with the most votes $10,000. Ashley then convinced her fiancé, who works at SCVNGR, to dance.

The dance is horrible. And for that, we applaud Ashley's courageousness (and that of her fiancé's) for sending it to us. Plus, Ashley tells us they could really use the money for the wedding.

You can watch the dance and vote for it here.

Get ready to judge. It looks like Mullen has upped their game.

In partnership with Radian6 and Boston.com, they present, BrandBowl 2011 - a site that uses Twitter to analyze consumer reaction to Super Bowl commercials.

The full-out version of the site goes live on Friday, February 4th, but today they've kicked off with a pre-game site to help us get warmed up. (Both with the same URL.) On the pre-game site you can practice and watch last year's spots.

If you’d like to participate, just add the hashtag #brandbowl to any of your Tweets related to Super Bowl commercials. If you tweet from Brandbowl2011.com the site automatically includes the hashtag for you.

And as a bonus, on game day, Hulu will be feeding actual spots as they become available.

For more info and features about the big event, check this.

Sure, there's not much of a concept. But in execution, they really went for it. Nice.

Whether it’s a fat population, high rate of STDs or excessive tax rate, it turns out that every state ranks dead last in at least one unsavory category.

So it's official, we're the shittiest drivers. But really, that should surprise no one. At least we're not "rape" or "gonorrhea."

We just heard that Mullen landed a new piece of business.

They've have been named the brand advertising agency-of-record for EmblemHealth. EmblemHealth is a New York-based healthcare company that provides health care coverage and services to more than three million people through its companies Group Health Incorporated (GHI) and HIP Health Plan of New York.

This is actually the 3rd time today that we've covered Mullen. First for their score on Ad Age's Agency A-List, then for their sharp new ACD hire and now this.

    Damn, Mullen. Damn.

Word on the street is that a sharp creative by the name of Paul Sincoff just landed a job in Boston as an ACD at Mullen, fresh off the boat from TBWA/Chiat/Day LA.

    His work is great.

And he's had an acting career.

In our opinion his greatest role came from "Saved By The Bell: The New Class" as Jack Elliot, the new gym manager who sexually harasses everybody. Not joking.

    Welcome to Boston, Paul.

A huge congratulations go out to Mullen and Arnold this morning.

Mullen took the #3 spot on the Ad Age Agency A-List. They were recognized for their steady creative success and "Unbound" approach that brought them new accounts this year like JetBlue.

Arnold was named Ad Age's Comeback Agency of the Year. They were recognized for their massive string of wins this year. 18 of them. Overall, it brought in $700 million in fresh billings. Damn.

    Mad props to both.
