Junk Food Vs. The Environment

Junk food wins. This is pretty weak.

As you probably have seen, a little while ago SunChips released a new biodegradable bag. The one draw back? It was incredibly noisy when crinkled. Super noisy.

Now, only 18 months after introducing their new earth-friendly packaging, they are backtracking (for the most part) to the old one. They will leave the original SunChips flavor in the new packaging, but all other flavors will go back to regular old never-gonna-biodegrade bags. Why?

Because SunChips sales have dropped by 11 percent in the past 52 weeks. There's even a Facebook group called "Sorry But I Can't Hear You Over This Sun Chips Bag," which has managed to attract almost 50,000 dissidents.

We suppose you can't blame a company for wanting to do what's best for their company. We suppose. (Although we'd like to see them do what's best for the environment). But the drop in sales due to a loud bag? That seems to amaze us a little bit.
