Gap Confuses Us

So we (and about every other ad/design blog out there) have been following the Gap logo debacle. See our first two posts here and here.

It's been back and forth, and frankly, we're sick of hearing about it.

Here's a final recap from what we've gathered, correct us if you think we're wrong on any of the stages of drama.

First Gap redesigned the logo. Then people said they hated it.

Then Gap said, "Just kidding! We want YOU to redesign the logo." Then people said, "Fuck you. We're not cleaning up your mess."

Then Gap said, "Ok, you're right. The new logo was the real deal, we're keeping it." Then people said, "That new logo still blows. You guys are making a big mistake."

And now, FINALLY, Gap has said, "Cool. We get what you're saying. Forget everything, we're keeping the original logo."

(Note: none of these "quotes" are actual "quotes." Just the way we've read everything.)

So now, Gap is right back where they started. With the original logo they've been using for twenty-some years. A logo that people are probably now going to criticize.
