Smart vs. Dumb
Smart Car kicks off its new campaign "Against Dumb."
More than just a take on excess gas consumption or environmentally responsible choices, "Against Dumb" is a call to action to consumers to reevaluate why we purchase more than we need. Smart.
Looking forward to more work for this campaign.

The advertising is clever, and I wish Penske the best of luck, but the Smart is *horrid* to drive. It's a fashion bauble here in the United States, and our suburb-to-suburb commute pattern isn't as well suited to the Smart's city-car nature. It's a great car for the city IF it's got the powertrain that other markets get.
The engine and transmission in the North American market Smarts are awful. Nothing is as punitive to drive. Other countries get a diesel and a different transmission. Here, we get crap.
oh, and buying a brand new car of any stripe is the epitome of dumb, mindless consumption. There's plenty of good stuff out there on the used market. We're awash in cars. Building new ones costs raw materials and energy in massive amounts.
Valid points all.
