• Mullen Lets the Camera Do the Talking

    / Comments (1)

Mullen just released these new spots for the Olympus Stylus Tough camera.

They're simple, no frills, product demos with no lame set up, no mouthy salesman (no dialogue at all actually) and no stupid "See how cool this product is?" moment at the end from some on screen jerk. Just a clean execution showing the product's capabilities. Nicely done.

Check out all the videos here.

Our friends over at The San Francisco Egotist are conducting a bracket-style competition poll.

What's the best ad city in America?

For the 1st round they have Boston pitted against Chicago. Please. Chicago? Chicago is the fatter version of Boston with a worse accent.

Do your city proud today, Boston. Vote.

..even more interesting than the Fast Company article itself, is Bogusky's rebuttal in two parts:

This seems like the real lost opportunity of this article. What's happening in culture and what's happening with me isn't an isolated incident. I meet people every day that are considering radical career changes or have already left their high-paying job to participate in a new way. My story could have served as a metaphor for a new crisis that so many of us are feeling.

A great interview with an advertising celebrity. Check it out here via Fast Company.

  • Orbit Cleans Things Up

Here, Orbit has teamed up with DumbDumb. DumbDumb is a comedy enterprise led by Will Arnett and Jason Bateman. The twosome will create commercials along with short and long form programming for distribution across all platforms...DumbDumb will create and produce digital content matching not only a brand's personality and marketing objectives but Arnett and Bateman's well-known comedic tone as well.

We were a little let down by these. Being big fans of both Bateman and Arnett, we wanted to like them more than we did. Maybe it's the heavy branding? Who knows, you decide. Still, Arnett delivers some one-liner gems in "The Prom Date."

M.I.A.'s new site is crazy bananas. The polar opposite of the clean, blog-roll-style site designs we've been seeing so much lately. But still, it's kind of awesome.

Snoop Dogg took a cue from the Old Spice Guy and is reaching out to some celebrities through Twitter.

Not sure if this is a straight up album promotion or what. It's a mixed bag of peeps to call out to (MC Hammer, Al Gore, Weird Al, Britney Spears, Martha Stewart, Shaq). Mostly wash-ups. But really, we don't care what it is. Because it's Snoop Dogg and it's awesome.

    More here.
