Competition: Extensis Challenges Cities Across the Nation to “Food Truck Font-Off” Contest


By / / The food truck phenomena is sweeping the nation, with the number of vendors climbing well into the millions. With competition high — particularly in food truck epicenters like Portland, Ore., Austin, TX, Boston, Mass., Los Angeles, Calif., and New York, NY — it’s not just about good eats; it’s about having a visual identity that draws people to your window. Extensis, a leader in font management solutions and self-proclaimed food truck expert by way of its headquarters located in Portland, Ore., today issued a challenge — “Show Us Your City’s Best Food Truck Typography”. Between now and September 22, 2014 at 11:59 PDT, food truck vendors and patrons can submit photos of the best use of fonts used by a food truck- including signage, menu or typography on the truck itself. Amanda Paull, VP of Marketing at Extensis notes: “We’re giving extra credit for elegant use of fonts generally despised by graphic designers (Papyrus, Comic Sans, Hobo, Curlz). We’re not saying it’s even possible, but…WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! We just gave you a reason to eat and browse for the best fonts you can find.” Winners will be selected by community vote, so nominators are encouraged to rally votes.
