By / / Abercrombie & Fitch is making headlines again. The teen apparel retailer has just released a statement titled “A Win-Win Situation” – in which it outlines its offer to pay Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino of MTV’s Jersey Shore to “wear an alternate brand.” Apparently, A&F is troubled over the association between its brand and The Situation. “We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans,” the statement read. The company has also extended the pay-to-not-play offer to the rest of the Jersey Shore cast. Of course, we can’t help but be cynical about all this… Really, A&F? Really? You know the show’s been on the air for a couple years now, right? And what about that “Fitchuation” shirt… Via.
