When I realized my dream to be a Latvian bear wrestler wasn’t feasible, it really broke my heart. I had the Latvian part covered and there are plenty of bears around, but the insurance was a bit much. I decided to turn to my other passion; art direction and advertising. I have worked as a Jr. Art Director at Manasian Inc. located in the South End of Boston. There I worked on print, digital, broadcast and OOH advertising for clients such as Computer Associates Technologies and Providea Video Conferencing. I have had plenty of other internship and advertising experience as seen on my resume. To get to know me even better visit my website, www.aldisrasums.com . Here you can view my portfolio, full resume and get a real feel for what kind of person I am.

Keep making, keep learning & keep curious. I aspire to become a great designer, respected art director & exceptional creative thinker. As a Creative, I am learning to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. An idea that doesn't make your eyebrows raise, is likely not an idea after all.

My interest in advertising was sparked when I saw the connection the industry had to creative writing, a long-time passion of mine. As I learned more about the industry, I also became interested in art direction. Now, I am looking for a full-time career in art direction or graphic design.

I live, work, and play here in the Boston area. I've been fortunate enough to work in an industry that I'm extremely passionate about. My talents have allowed me to become successful in art direction, design, and particularly on interactive and digital work. I try to address each design challenge with a practical but contemporary solution. When I'm not counting pixels, I love to get out. I enjoy running, lacrosse, surfing, camping, and spending time with my ever expanding family.

Seasoned, hands-on creative with 19 years of experience. Worship smart thinking and the "Big Idea" that works across all channels and effectively engages prospects and customers in a two-way conversation. Well versed in digital, print, and wading through the waters of social media. Successfully ran a small agency (Martin Randal) for 11 years, tackling everything from the pitch and proposal to full execution and placement. Still actively involved in all aspects of brand design and front-end web development (HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, Wordpress, Joomla). Expertise in the usual suspects: CS5 Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, and a few more that I'm probably forgetting. Other experience includes video (concept, script, animation, production), and managing designers, copywriters, and photographers. Oh, and I've dealt with the City of Boston securing permits for Liberty Mutual to hang street banners. That has to count for something. The biggest take-away I have to offer is my sole purpose for being in this industry: to generate revenue for clients and the agency that I'm a part of.

I love sports, design, and problem solving. It was only natural that I went into advertising. When i'm not editing copy down to 25 words or finding that one thing that makes someone feel that they need something, I can be found playing with my dog in the park, peddling the streets of Boston, or framing at The Framers’ Workshop.
