FAQ

Why is your site anonymously-run?
Never mind the man behind the curtain. This is about you, Boston, not us. We want people to concentrate on what we’re saying, not who’s saying it. So let’s keep the conversation on point and not distract from the site’s purpose by muddying the waters. It’s important that the spotlight be on the work and the people we’re featuring, not the site’s authors.

Who contributes to the site?
You do, Boston creative community, you do.

The authors of The Boston Egotist are varied in their talents and interests, making the site robust and perpetually fresh. We invite everyone in the community to write editorial (credited or anonymous) or submit great work at any time.

Is the site associated with an agency?
Negative. Despite what you may have heard or think you know, The Boston Egotist is autonomous and not connected in any way to agencies in Boston.

Will all work submitted be featured?
Most likely not. Remember accountability? The Boston Egotist posts information and editorial relevant to the demanding creative connoisseur working in Boston and beyond. We’re critical with our recommendations, as it is our desire to become a trusted resource. All work and links submitted to The Boston Egotist will be examined with a critical eye. Only the strong survive.

Why has my comment or forum thread been deleted?
It was likely deleted because we thought it was harmful. And that’s against the rules here. If you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face, don’t say it. Plain and simple.

Can I start a version of this site in my own city?
Sure. The Egotist platform is built to be launched in cities around the world for local market reporting and community-building. Learn more about starting your local version here.
